Tom
Freelancer / Reiki Practitioner
About me
I’m Tom. I’ve worked in the industry dare I say for over 30 years!
Starting off as a work experience boy with a passion for hair and wanting to learn everything I could about it. My journey with the industry has been an incredible experience and a fruitful one at that. Working at some of the leading salons across the country from Sassoon Toni & Guy, Aveda London & Rush.
I love the creativity the industry can offer through fashion hair photography which lead me to become a session stylist working backstage at London fashion week, teaching at Toni& Guy London and Manchester Academy’s.
Setting up Baroque has stretched all that knowledge to create what I believe to be a space where guests feel safe, seen and in the best creative and knowledgeable hands of a committed team. After time I really felt that I needed to grow and so too did Baroque in a completely new way, so I retrained as Hair loss specialist and Holistic Reiki Practitioner.
Bringing these new elements to the salon has been a beautiful thing to share.

About me
Hi, I am Verity! First, I absolutely love all that is hair. I believe my passion firstly came from being a frizzy haired teen getting tinsel at the age of 14, I felt no one should have to live the journey that I had! I found an industry that has inspired me to grow with confidence with every year I have served my greatest passion, and I love giving our guests confidence in themselves. From an early age, I felt that I needed to give back to the industry, so I qualified as a hairdressing assistant aged 21, all the while trying to push my own career working photo shoots and bringing up the next generation. I have been truly blessed in being able to compete in the Wella Trend Vision Loreal Colour Trophy, Aveda Pure Image award and I was also a finalist of the British Hairdressing award. I gained a colour specialist degree. I love doing unique and special colours and am excited to cut and style alongside innovative trends and styles. I just want everyone to be the best version of themselves!

About me
Since being a little girl, I had always found myself doing my friends and family’s hair before they went out. And as I grew older and realised I didn’t want to work on a farm anymore I thought about making a career out of doing something I had enjoyed since I was little. After I joined as a Saturday girl, I realised how much I loved the environment of making people feel good about themselves. I love how the work isn’t just doing people hair and sending them away it’s about creating relationships with the clients and allowing them to trust us.

About me
When Tom stood in my kitchen twenty or so years ago and asked me to be a part of his new venture, I remember feeling like it was a nerve wracking decision for me….purely because I’d been an ‘at home mum’, for a long time and I thought my skill set matched that of an amoeba!
I declined his kind offer of training me up to be a stylist (oh the irony) but happily began discussions about being his receptionist…Basically I’ve been working for Baroque since the dawn of time.
Having been his receptionist, to then becoming a manager and post mat leave coming back to receptionist then trainee hairdresser – I’m now just waiting to be wheeled out onto the salon floor! Hang on – am I the Benjamin Button of Baroque??!!!
Hairdressing enables me to be all my favourite professions: style consultant, life coach, counsellor and obviously a dresser of hair and I love people and chatting!!! The industry keeps me young at heart – or so I’d like to think and the energy it gives me is a real tonic.
I’ve known the team for many years, and I suppose you could say we’ve all grown up together (some more than others!!!) it may sound terribly cheesy, but they are my salon family, and I can’t imagine a place I’d rather be for inspiration, training and laughter!

About me
I was originally a guest at Baroques when they first opened their doors over 20 years ago. I had known Tom even before then, and I’ve long since stopped counting the exact number of years.
I joined the Baroque team more than eight years ago and haven’t looked back since. It’s been a unique experience seeing things from both sides of the fence.
